Detailed description: Made on order : the customer owned marble, was interested in fossils and wanted a coffee table.
The foot is composed of a plywood trihedral with truncated edges in the bottom, similar to a rock crystal head. It is veneered with a plum wood frieze. Two hexagonal maple rock crystals come out of the sides of the trihedral to support the plate. A carved trilobite is perched over one of these supports ; it sets marble. A carved orthoceras reproduces it an d is the third support of the plate which it also sets. The sculptures are grey glossy and ceruse-painted, then covered with matt varnish. The other parts are covered with bright varnish.
