Detailed description:
A unique object inspired by ancient Egypt. The first pyramid stands for birth with Aheqet (a frog-headed goddess) and ram-headed Knoum who breathe life. The two head-to-tail bodies of the pyramids represent the hourglass on which the spiral of life grows, composed of Horus (the falcon-headed god) and ibis-headed Thot. The truncated pyramid includes at the top a well in which Anubis (the jackal-headed god) welcomes the dead.
The tetrahedrons are in plywood veneered on their 4 sides with east indies satinwood, Cuba mahogany, sycamore and Rio rosewood representing the four seasons of life. The Egyptian gods’ inlay is composed of king wood, sycamore, ebony, burr elm, padauk and tulipwood sapwood. The three parts are covered with a satin-finish varnish. The tray is a fifteen-mm-thick pane with bevelled edges.
